This forum is being set up with the specific intent of establishing a new political party.
Many people have expressed frustration with the Democrats, and Republicans. It seems that there is effectively little difference between the two. That may, or may not be true yet many see so little in the performance by politicians that said parties may as well be a single entity.
Here is the place that we can sort out what we want in a new party that will represent our needs and desires. All of us have our priorities. By example; My day to day concerns mostly involve fully following the U.S. Constitution, and firearms rights. Others may be more immediately concerned with property rights or immigration. All of these issues need to be addressed in a platform. Single issue parties fail virtually every time.
At least initially, make a statement that is general here. Then a separate thread, or board, will be created. Discussion/debate following, and then the actual words hashed out.
Example;
Abortion should be illegal in all circumstances:
Board created;
Debate: Even if continuing the pregnancy will result in the immediate death of both mother and child?
More debate; Followed by a final statement that becomes a "Party Platform."
Additionally, rules for the party will need to be developed. I might favor a rule that says, in general, Roberts Rules of Order will be adhered too during discussion/debate. You may favor a different set of guidelines.
At this time myself and Texas Fred are the main Moderators. If you have a need or want, let us know. There will be "Source" and "help" links posted for any/all to use.
Let's get this ball rolling.

It's gotta start somewhere, might as well start with US...
As soon as we get this set up a bit better, I will do a post in the blog and try to drum up some interest...
We might get LoL to make a 'button' and we can get Basti and me and LoL to set it and link it too... A lot of possibilities...

Sounds great Fred. I have set up a resources board and hope it will be useful. If anyone else has additional resources that they would like to have added all they need to do is ask. All of those type threads need to be locked for security purposes. As well as a general "Rules" type of board.
Also, if you could place a copy-write notice like at your blog as a footer that would be cool.

The reasons I created The Jacksonian Party was to address some of the things the current two party, or Zero Party these days, system had neglected. Truly it is an oxymoron as Jacksonians are highly individualistic, cantankerous and tend to sit with their own views steadfastly. As Will Rogers had said: "I am not a member of an organized party, I'm a Democrat." That was still the party of Jackson back in those days. FDR's big government approach looked bad, but so did everything else at the time, and he was popular enough to sway undecideds for him... and when the war was on, well, you stood behind the President.
Today, however, that party is gone the way of the dodo with the embracing of the Left and the Ingrate Generation. By 1974 the Democratic Party was no longer the party it was at its founding. By forcing lock-step acceptance of their goals, they were able to get some moderates behind them to extend their post-war ascendancy, but read out the Jacksonians.
The political climate became one of narrow focus groups, slicing and dicing the electorate and putting Government as the solution to every ill of the Nation. Both parties did this and soon voter participation declined steeply. A solid 40% of the Nation no longer believes in the two-party system and many others hold their nose and vote so their vote 'can matter'. The two party state has locked itself into place more solidly than ever, and by restricting the House to limited size, they can now make Representatives that only represent the die-hards willing to vote.
So something needs be done and this era of the 21st Century will offer new ways and means to do things that were impossible before, even as older concepts need be brought back for modern problems. Democrats now no longer believe in democracy and would prefer to 'triangulate' victories to get narrow pluralities. Republicans no longer support the Republic and give way to big government and big business and heartily support both. And in the doing both parties diminish the Union and the People into something close to servitude.
That must end, or the Republic of Free People will perish from this Earth. By willful and abusive neglect for partisan goals.
A new political party must actively use the new media for distributing ideas and collecting commonality and community amongst People. The hierarchical parties that we currently have concentrate power upwards and then enforce compliance downwards. While necessary for the industrial age, that is really quite the opposite of how a Free People should work together. Thus a political party that is new must have a flatness to it and no hierarchy. As I put forward in my founding documents, Every member of the Jacksonian Party is a Deciding member. Everyone gets the highest post possible for they are, in and of themselves, the Party.
Party Coherence is not set around ideals. It is set on the basis of responsibility to the Republic so that we may all carry out those responsibilities with Our Rights. The Jacksonian concept of honoring your friends, trusting those that give you trust, keeping an eye on those that have given no cause for help or harm and doing your best to put down your enemies extends from the personal to the International. It is a scale-free dynamic that works at all levels. Although simple in outlook, it is not simplistic in enaction and requires understanding that Actions have Outcomes regardless of Intention.
This last neutralizes all of those that wish to apply intentive labels to actions and then vilify those they have thus labeled. This is a form of thought control and truly abhorrent to a Free People. Whenever an argument is made and the opposer tries to vilify based on some higher label and move away from the action and outcome, they are no longer taking part in a discussion of the consequences of actions, but are trying to make the argument personal. That must stop if we are to have a Republic that can look at actions and see what they lead to and then *deal* with those outcomes or attempt to change them.
Thus The Jacksonian Party has the 'show evidence' and 'put up or shut up rule' in its founding. When one purports to show something, real and actual evidence pointing to sequences of actions and outcomes needs be demonstrated, either directly or by similarity and juxtaposition. *Asserting* intention behind actions is not allowed as it is 'mind reading', which we do not have the capability to do. Further, if one disagrees with a position, you may just plainly state your disagreement and say 'I think it is wrong on personal grounds, can we move on to something else?' or, if they vituperate, they MUST put up something BETTER than what was proposed and demonstrate WHY it is better. These things are the honorable way to deal with problems in society, and we can agree to disagree and not be disagreeable about it.
The Jacksonian Party looks across the full spectrum of responsibilities and rights for We the People. We hand some few over to governments, but the rest are OURS. That said there are two main ways to have rights: by active use and expansion, and by mere having of them. My main case in point has been Amendment II, the foundation of a Free People is being armed in various ways and means. I do not place firearms higher than a trained martial artist that can kill in the span of a breath, nor over an expert crossbowman that can bring down a deer in a shot, nor over an individual trained in ancient arms who can use those arms well and lethally. All of these make a Free People free. And most people exercise them, if they want, through the means of 'having' that right. I consider that the lowest form of rights use: having it, but not making it more useful over time. When We the People look for new ways to express Our rights to fulfill Our responsibilities, then we find New Rights appear that strengthen us as a Whole. And any New Right that is put to Our responsibility is OURS. That is why I propose to add Amendment II with Article I Section 10 and create something never seen before: An empowered, armed Citizenry given cognizance over the use of lethality to protect their State's right to autonomy. Both are mentioned in the Constitution, but have never been joined in a way the Federal Government may *not* touch. And a New Right of the State and its People to work to secure freedom and liberty while letting the Federal Government know, directly, when it is abdicating its duties is CREATED. And ONLY We the People in each of Our States may do this... or not.
To get The Jacksonian Party in place requires a total turn-around of how we think of politics. Parties should not define people, but their commonality of outlook and belief should guide them to create good political creations. The two party system *requires* adherence to one party or the other and actually PREVENTS those on the outside from another party from joining in with them. It is an exclusionary system made to cause adherence to party doctrine. The Jacksonian Party IS its members as they agree and disagree on things, and it is moved forward or not on that basis. Individual Jacksonians are asked to show exactly what they support and why, and what they cannot support and if it is beyond mere personal feeling to also explain why so that EVERYONE can think about it. Good ideas are often built from the things naysayers put forward in a constructive fashion. By being open on that basis to anyone who is willing to at least give some basic thought to what it means to be a Citizen of the Republic and a Jacksonian, the Republic *itself* is made stronger.
The Jacksonian Party is the *instant* party of the electronic age. When enough Jacksonians in a State identify with common ideals and want to put forth a candidate, they are then empowered to *flood the zone* and get signatures and ensure that anyone who signs up is given the places where they may express themselves as THE HIGHEST RANKING MEMBERS IN THE PARTY. Each and every single individual is that, save if some asinine rule requires a party leader or some such... then that is rotated through the entire party on a daily or hourly basis. There is no *head* to the Jacksonian Party in this conception... but it has many eyes and many brains and many hearts working together.
And as The Jacksonian Party is non-hierarchical, it is also BROKE. There are NO PARTY FUNDS. If you want to support a candidate or get a party meeting going, you start contacting folks and get the money together as best you can. And if you have more, you refunding it proportionally to those that gave into it. A Party member running for office NEVER has a war chest carry-over as that is trying to use past electioneering to win new elections, even if those that voted for you have changed their minds. It is THEIR MONEY YOU ARE RUNNING ON. This money is NOT YOURS. The Jacksonian Party has no treasury to raid, no funds to steal... it is the Party of individuals coming together to achieve common good *continually*.
And the main goal of the Jacksonian Party is to get the representation back into the People's House. By allowing the House to set it's own size, We the People are being ill-served by Parties dividing up the map so as to sub-divide We the People. The House already has electronic voting from non-House areas and multiple secure networks for doing so. The House is ALREADY VIRTUAL, but limited in size so as to concentrate power. The Jacksonian Party stands for the broadest and most accountable representation of the People and would put forth a simple Amendment to fix the size of the House at 1:30,000 and to remove all staff and funds for same from the House individuals and ONLY fund current staffs for committees and infrastructure to run the House. By putting in a secure network connection to a Representative's home, they may now work from there and be fully accountable to their neighbors who may drop by to visit.
The House will be very large this way. But we already have electronic means to post things, mass-edit them and reconcile them. Further, we already have instant messaging, video cameras, voice capability... a full suite of capability for allowing real-time virtual meetings and asynchronous meeting modes via store and forwarding. A House of 435 suited America of 1911. It is ludicrous in the extreme today. By making the House so large, corruption must be heavily dispersed and so must lobbying. Soon, the realization hits that to get 5,000 or so members together on an issue from a lobbyist is exponentially expensive. Plus you actually would have to visit each one, as they would not be in DC, save for ceremonial events.
The 21st Century offers challenges in many ways similar to those of the 19th. A hard and hard working Republic survived and thrived then, and those very same tools are available to us today. But we have become a house so sub-divided that it cannot stand as the commonality of We the People has been broken. The Jacksonian Party offers the simple and commonsense concept of using basic and honorable ways to do things so that people can be brought together to address the problems of the Nation. Simple concepts and their enaction can lead to mighty changes so long as the reasoning for them are put forth and agreed upon.
The era of the backroom deal is over. It denied people a say. The era of the lobbyist will be limited to the Senate. They DESERVE scrutiny. The era of huge and unaccountable Government will shrink under many eyes questioning every damn thing going on. The era of buying off the electorate with the Nation's money will end, as such featherbedding will not get past many eyes and questions.
These things are not proposed because they are EASY. We have had decades of *that* to no good end.
These things are proposed so that We may remain a free and vigorous People, and do the hard work to keep Our freedoms and hand them to those that come after Us, a bit better for Our stewardship. And so we know they will do the same hard work as We did when We got these precious gifts from those before Us.
